How Intelligent Evidence Handles the September 2026 Ofsted Changes
When descriptors change, we flag exactly what needs a second look, so you don't have to guess.
Some descriptors underneath the Ofsted categories are changing as part of the September 2026 toolkit update. Rather than leaving you to work out which of your existing evidence is affected, we've built the flagging and rescanning into the system for you.
Automatic flagging: The moment you log in after the update, any category containing an affected descriptor is marked with an orange warning icon. We identify these based on the specific descriptors that changed, not the whole category, so you're only pointed at what actually needs attention.

A message explaining why: Each flag comes with a short explanation that the requirements for that descriptor have changed, so it's clear this is about the criteria moving, not a problem with your evidence.

A rescan built just for this: We've added a rescan function specifically for the affected descriptors. It only reprocesses the areas we've flagged, so you're not re-running evidence checks against parts of your framework that haven't changed. You can access rescan within the Evidence base or the documents page. It will archive existing evidence and re-scan the original documents against the updated descriptors. All new evidence will show in the Upload and Review page for approval.

The goal is to take the manual work out of keeping up with framework changes. You focus on your school, we keep track of what Ofsted has moved and point you straight at it.
