Why can't I access a feature?

If you're seeing a "you don't have permission" message, or a button or feature you expect to see just isn't there, it's almost always down to your access level rather than a fault.

Here are some common examples, and the access level needed:

Can't see the Users button, or can't invite colleagues? You'll need Org Admin access.

Can't approve or peer review evidence? You'll need School Leader Approver or Org Admin.

Can't edit evidence, or add and rescan documents? You'll need at least School Leader Editor.

Can only comment, not create or edit anything? You've likely been set up as a Team Commenter, Governor Commenter, or Viewer, this is often intentional for governors or wider staff who only need to review.

Can't change School Type or other account settings? This is limited to Org Admin.

See the Access Levels Table for the full breakdown of what each role can do.

If you think your access level is wrong, ask your school's Org Admin to update it via Users. If you're not sure who your Org Admin is, or you are the Org Admin and still seeing this, contact us via Live Chat (business hours) or email support@intelligentevidence.co.uk.
