Release Notes - 26.04.1 - School and MAT Dashboard
Type of release: Feature Release
Applies to: All schools / academies
Release date: 20th April 2026
Features
The key changes included in this release are:
-
New “Dashboard” menu item – A new Dashboard option has been added to the sidebar, giving you access to a visual summary of your school or trust's evidence position at any time.
-
School Evidence Dashboard - School users now have access to a dedicated School Evidence Dashboard providing a visual summary of your evidence position. The dashboard includes four key indicators at the top of the page: total documents uploaded, total approved evidence items, the percentage of grade descriptors covered, and the number of evidence items waiting for approval. Below this, a colour-coded overview table shows your current evidence grade across each inspection category. A bar chart is also displayed showing approved evidence and evidence ready for review, broken down by category.
- MAT & LA Evidence Dashboard - MAT and LA users now have access to a trust-level overview dashboard showing all schools in their trust on a single page. A KPI bar at the top highlights the most consistent school, the weakest category across the trust, and any schools with two or more categories needing attention. Below this, a school overview table shows the evidence grade for every school across each applicable category, making it easy to spot patterns and prioritise support without needing to open individual schools.
- School selector for MAT users - MAT Users can click on a school name to open the school level dashboard. When viewing the School Evidence Dashboard, MAT and LA users will see a school selector dropdown in the top right, allowing them to switch between schools within their trust without returning to the MAT overview.
- Category drill-down - Hovering on any category grade on the school or MAT dashboard opens a summary card showing your current grade, your next grade, and how many grade descriptors you have evidenced toward that next grade. From this card you can click through directly to the Evidence Summary for that category.
- Evidence Summary - Clicking into a category grade on either dashboard opens a detailed Evidence Summary for that category. This shows each grade descriptor along with the number of approved evidence items, best evidence items, and items pending review. Any grade descriptor with no evidence against it is clearly highlighted. Within each strength section, you can sort by approved, pending, or best evidence count to help you prioritise.
Small Changes
- Top level category restrictions by school type - Categories that are not applicable to a school's type are now automatically excluded from that school's evidence calculations and grade descriptor counts. For example, Early Years does not appear for Secondary schools and Post-16 does not appear for Primary schools. On the dashboard, non-applicable categories are shown as Not Applicable rather than a grade. To enable, follow the steps in the article here to set your school type.
Bug Fixes
- Documents – Edit button not working on first login - When navigating to the Documents area after logging in, the Edit button on an evidence item was not opening the edit dialog. This also affected the Add Note button. Both buttons now work correctly on first load without requiring a page refresh.
- Generate Report – Incorrect framework displayed - The Generate Report area was showing frameworks that had not been enabled for the school, and in some cases was defaulting to the wrong framework regardless of the school's settings. The framework selector now correctly displays only the frameworks enabled for your school, with the appropriate framework selected by default.
