What is the Spotlight Approach?
Focus on one area at a time when uploading and scanning documents, rather than uploading everything at once.
Rather than uploading and scanning everything you have in one go (a "floodlight" approach), we recommend taking a "spotlight" approach: focusing on one framework area, strength, or category at a time.
There are a few reasons this works better:
- The platform does its best work when it can concentrate on a specific area, rather than trying to interpret everything at once.
- Uploading everything at once can leave you with hundreds of pieces of evidence to sort through in a single sitting.
- Working through your framework area by area feels far more manageable, especially when you're just getting started.
You don't need to get everything uploaded in one session. You can come back and rescan a document for a different category or strength whenever you're ready, so your evidence base builds up gradually. See How do I scan a document for a different category? for how that works.
